As an advocate for policies which would bring an end to homelessness in Ireland, Peter McVerry Trust produce regular, evidence-based publications which provide actionable solutions to homelessness across the country.


The most obvious solution to homelessness is to provide more high quality, social and affordable homes. Peter McVerry Trust is a specialist provider of housing to people impacted or at risk of homelessness in Ireland.

The charity is one of the fastest growing and largest providers of social housing in Ireland and currently provides housing to those in need in Carlow, Clare, Cork City and County, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Limerick, Louth, Laois, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, and Wicklow.

We are working towards delivering on our target of 450 social housing units by the end of 2020.

Tailored Support Services

High intensity multi-disciplinary homeless support day services in locations across the country would encompass addiction, mental health, housing and homeless support services in a single site.

It would also offer a safe space for people in need to spend time, meet their key workers and also to access IT, food, laundry and storage services.

Peter McVerry Trust has significantly increased its investment in prevention work in recent years. The charity is working to provide a targeted programme of services and activities that work to prevent people who are at risk of homelessness ever entering homeless services.
